
The Manual Therapy Center
of Kaluga region was established in 2003
on the base of a private outpatient clinic
“Rehabilitation Center”
in the city of Obninsk.

THERAPY
-
Classic manual therapy methods, craniosacral
and visceral manual therapy, musculo-energy
techniques and indirect functional techniques,
strain/contrastrain techniques, myofascial
release, etc. are applied for therapy. Recent
achievements of pharmacotherapy,
medicamental blockades, acupuncture and
electroacupuncture, all massage types,
hirudotherapy, homeopathy, and
psychotherapy are used in complex therapy
of vertebrogenous diseases.

5 manual therapists including chief specialist
in manual therapy of Health and Drug
Department of Kaluga region work at the Manual
Therapy Center of Kaluga region.
DIAGNOSTICS

The Manual Therapy Center of Kaluga region
possesses modern diagnostic resources.
The following methods have a wide diagnostic
application:
- X-ray studies of vertebral column including
layer-by-layer X-ray tomography;
- ultrasonic dopplerography of arteries and veins
of neck and head;
- ultrasonic duplex scanning of neck vessels;
- ultrasonography of intervertebral disks of
cervical and lumbar zones of vertebral column;
- ultrasonic study of abdominal cavity organs;
- ultrasonic study of small pelvis organs;
- stimulation and needle electroneuromyography;
- electoencephalography;
- three-dimensional scanning of vertebral column;
- laboratory diagnostic studies.
SCIENTIFIC ACTIVITIES

On the base of the Manual Therapy Center
of Kaluga region:
- scientific and practical journal
“Manual Therapy” is published;
- regional scientific and practical conferences
on manual therapy are held;
- out-of-town courses of primary specialization
and certification in manual therapy as well as
topical advanced training courses with invitation
of leading specialists in this field are held;
- scientific studies are conducted: more than 50
scientific papers have been published;
- the professional association of manual therapists
of Kaluga region has been established;
The activities are performed in close cooperation
with Manual Therapy Center of the
Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation
(director A.B. Sittel, Professor), Medical
Radiological Research Center of the Russian
Academy of Medical Sciences (director A.F.Tsyb,
Professor, Academician of RAMS) and other
leading medical institutions of Russia.
